What I Wore At... Courteeners @ Liverpool Echo Arena

Friday was the long awaited final night of Courteeners tour, we'd been anticipating this gig for a long time as it was the biggest night of the tour and it was also the alternative to the usual Manchester Christmas gig.
It was a very early start for myself and Ashton, we headed up to Liverpool super early to shop and sight see (or so we planned!) we arrived at lunch time after a very long train journey and decided to head to the hostel to dump all of our luggage!
It was absolutely pouring when we arrived and by the time we got to the hostel we were soaked! So we decided to stay and dry off in the hostel for a short time and then it was time to head to town. The rain definitely put us off and we only managed a few shops only making the essential stops! We seemed refuge up near the ice rink in a cute little ski lodge where we warned up with some mulled wine while we waited for our other friend to arrive.
Once Sophie arrived we had planned to head to Smugglers Cove as we'd heard great things about it (apparently so had everyone else in Liverpool) but as it was a Friday night it was fully booked and we didn't manage to get a table, we headed over to Revolution instead we indulged in lots of fab cocktails and I had a fab goats cheese pizza (absolutely delicious!) We were already running quite late at this point and the bar quickly started filling up with Courteeners fans, this was our queue to leave and get ready!!
We like to be late for everything and although we'd Planned to see the support we didn't manage to get there in time! We had spent too much time getting ready and drinking wine from our fab new jam jar cups!

We arrived at the arena after the support had finished but in enough time (we thought) to get to our seats before the main event! As we were very luckily and kindly put on the guest list again we had to a different queue which turned out to be a bit of a free for all and it took agesss for us to get into the arena! We wanted to quickly grab a drink before we went to our seats so we ended up missing the first two songs (oops!). It was so strange having seats (I don't think we sat down once!)  and not being down in the action, but it was fab all the same and was sort of nice to experience the gig from a different perspective and also to remain safe from beer flingers! The set list was amazing as usual and the atmosphere was on fire! The boys definitely didn't disappoint! We had such a good view although my photos don't show it!!!!

After the gig we headed to Almost Famous we had wristbands for the exclusive after party as we were on the guestlist so we thought we'd check it out! It was such a nice party we knew quite a few people there so it turned out to be a lovely way to end the tour on a high and our time in Liverpool! I'm actually really bad (all of us are) and didn't take any photos while we were actually out but I can guarantee we had a fabulous time!
The next day we woke with slightly sore heads and needed some greasy food to cure our hangovers! Sophie had already headed to Manchester so Ashton and I headed back to Almost Famous, this time for food rather than booze! We knew from previous experience we couldn't handle a whole burger and fries each so we shared a Wonderland burger between the two of us, this was still a little too much!! We needed to make sure we  didn't get home to late so after food we headed back to the station and home, I slept all the way absolutely shattered! Then we hung out at Ashtons with a big dominos and X factor a great way to end the weekend!!

It's always tough deciding what to wear for a gig, especially when you are going out after! I had bought this velvet co ord from Ark a couple of weeks ago and not got around to wearing it so I thought it was the perfect outfit, I wore my new Lamoda boots which proved to be the most comfortable shoes I own (definitely recommend them to anyone!). I wimped out a little though and wore sheer tights I'm not sure my legs would've survived the cold otherwise!!

Daytripping... Falling down the rabbit hole at Chatsworth House

On Monday I went to Chatsworth House, to visit their annual Christmas decorations display. This year the theme is 'Alice's Wonderland' as a big fan of Alice In Wonderland this was an absolute must to visit and I was super excited. We made sure to arrive before the house opened as the house does get very busy, especially at this time of year (the christmas market was also on), we grabbed a quick drink before heading to the house to enter 'Wonderland'.

When you begin to join the queue you find yourself surrounded by greenery and farm yard animals as you are still part of the 'real world', once you enter the house and the main foyer you are greeted by a large rabbit hole, in which you start to tumble down. I loved the details of all the decorations throughout the house but down the rabbit hole there was an absolutely fab caterpillar all the way down the rabbit hole. And then we found the white rabbit...

We then ourselves found in a corridor surrounded by differently sized mirrored locked doors, and lots of little cakes and drinks. As we made our way further down the corridor the furniture began to get bigger and bigger until it dwarfed us!
The chapel of the house was filled with absolutely beautiful decorations and the most gorgeous decorated Christmas trees.
We found the caterpillar on his mushroom, he was so so fab and animatronic so he moved also. The photos haven't turned out to great with my phone as his face was beautifully lit up. This was one of my favourite rooms in the house it looked so pretty.
And then we came to the dressing up... definitely one of my highlights, I had to try on most of the adult sized costumes (such a big kid). I loved the Mad Hatters Hat and didn't want to take it off, I'd like to wear it everyday of the week! I dressed up as Tweedle Dee/Dum, the White Rabbit and of course Alice!
After we'd finished playing dress up, we found ourselves a part of the Mad Hatters Tea Party (I should have kept the hat on!)
We began to become closer and closer to the Queen of Hearts, we followed the flamingos towards the croquet game!
The Cheshire Cat kept popping up throughout the house with his massive grin.
We found the Queen of Hearts and she was ready for a battle! Somebody had been painting the roses red! This led on to the court room ad trial was to be held.
I had such a fab time within the house, I would thoroughly recommend visiting if you can! My photographs truly don't do the place justice it was absolutely stunning!
After visiting the house we couldn't resist a trip around the Christmas markets, (who can miss an opportunity to shop), I picked up a couple of fab things in particular two gorgeous statement bindis, that I'll be saving up for Glastonbury next year. I'm definitely starting to feel more Christmassy and also feel warmed up towards visiting Berlin and the Christmas markets there next week!
