Floral Jumpsuit...

Today is officially the end of summer for me, I got back from Leeds Festival yesterday and started back at work today! I had the most fabulous weekend spent with great people, seeing all my favourite bands. And dare I say it nothing actually went wrong, myself and Ashton were beginning to feel as though we were cursed after this summer!
I'll attempt to sort a festival blog post in the next few weeks.

In the meantime I've found a new found love for culotte jumpsuits, Primark in particular have had some absolutely great ones. I love an easy to wear outfit for lazy days and these are perfect for that they can be dressed up with heels to if the occasion suits. This one is from Primark and has an absolutely gorgeous print that reminded me slightly of Textile Federation prints so a Primark alternative to these was fab! I love the red colour and the vibrant blues and greens within the print the fact that the jumpsuit was only £13 is even better! I've accessorised simply with large sunglasses and with my usual silver rings.

Floaty Fabrics...

So today I'm off to the final festival of the year, Leeds. We go every year and it's always the festival that marks the end of Summer! Post Festival blues will be on their way very soon!! This year Leeds will be extra fabulous as we'll finally get to see the bands we went to the dreaded Rock Am Ring to see. Biffy are headlining Friday and Foals are heading Saturday fingers crossed there won't be any thunder storms this time!

This outfit is festival inspired and is what I will be wearing to travel to the festival as it's super comfy and light for when I'll be carrying all my luggage. I can't pack lightly!
I picked up this top in the Matalan sale for £3! I couldn't resist it for that price its made of such a lovely floaty fabric and I love the tassel detailing it isn't quite long enough to wear as a dress so I'm wearing crochet shorts underneath but these can't really be seen.
I've accessorised simply with a floral crown, I have so many of these but I recently bought this one in the Monsoon kids sale, it was only a couple of pounds so I couldn't resist it!
I'm wearing my tan boots from New Look but these will be replaced with my wellies or Dr Martens for Leeds and there will of course be the added accessory of glitter everywhere!

Pastel Pink and Paisley...

It's nearly the end of summer and I really don't want it to end, next weekend is Leeds festival and that usually marks the end of summer for me so I'm going to make the most of what is left!

I've rediscovered this dress within my wardrobe this year, it was buried right at the back along side another pastel blue one. I love the off shoulder style and have been wearing them both over this summer.
This time I have styled the dress with a paisley kimono and some fabulous unicorn accessories. The clutch bag is from New Look and is the most impractical bag I've ever owned it's so tiny inside but was too good to not buy one day I will dare to take it out with me. I'm very good at losing things!
The shoes are from Topshop, as soon as I spotted them on the website I had to have them they are a shiny silver with a unicorn motif on one foot and a lightning bolt and horse shoe on the other foot.
I got some Topshop vouchers for my birthday so they ended up being an absolute bargain!

Pastel Rainbow Stripes...

I'm a massive fan of anything bright and colourful, I'm currently on the hunt for some fabulous outfits for Leeds festival in a couple of weeks time! So when I spotted this skirt at a kilo sale it went straight into my already bulging bag. Its a midi style skirt with pastel rainbow stripes I originally bought it with the intention of shortening it a little and perhaps making a crop with the cut off material, but when I tried it on I actually really liked it at the length it was at so that plan didn't ever materialise!
Also a longer length skirt is great for cooler days during summer.

Due to the length I styled it with a white crop as any other shirts I tried didn't look quite right, this one is from Urban Outfitters a couple of years ago and has been a great staple in my wardrobe! I've accessorised with a fab dream catcher necklace which I bought in the New Look sale for a bargain £1 and my chunky white Lenka sandals from Topshop!

Barnardos Charity Shop Challenge... Sequin Maxi Dress

I was absolutely thrilled to be contacted by Barnardos a couple of months ago and asked to help guest write for their blog. I jumped at the chance, charity shopping is definitely one of my favourite ways to shop, I am always browsing the rails to find the next fabulous bargain!

I was asked to take part in a style challenge to create an outfit purely shopping in one of their stores, I was so up for this. The Barnardos in my home town is always full of great bargains and they regularly have special offers so I was ready to take on the challenge. I wanted to create a festival inspired look as it is now the height of festival season.
I made the trip to town to take on the rails, it didn't take me long to spot this absolutely incredible sequin maxi dress and I knew this was the dress for me. It was a couple of sizes too big and the lining was full but I grabbed it as I knew I could modify this myself. I also couldn't resist as it was only £1.99, I couldn't believe how cheap it was. The Barnardos in my home town rarely has any items for over £1.99 so there are always huge bargains to be had, last winter I picked up a fab faux sheepskin coat for the same price!

When I got this dress home I shortened the lining to make my legs visible through the sequin sheer material and also took the sides in to make the dress fit me better. It was a quick an easy job and the results are fabulous. I've styled the dress with a gorgeous floral crown and also with glitter festival style make up along with white chunky heels, which I of course wouldn't wear at a festival (Dr Martens are my go to festival shoe!).

This dress proves what absolute gems can be found in charity shops, not only do you get the joy of searching through the rails but you also get to find one off pieces that no one else has. It's so much more exciting than high street shopping! I can't wait to prance about a field in my fabulous new dress!!
