So I was lucky enough to be invited by
Preloved Kilo Sale to take a rummage through all their fabulous vintage items and pick myself out a free kilo. That was an offer I certainly couldn't resist!
I checked the upcoming events near me and decided to attend the Manchester sale held at the Old Granada Studios. I regularly attend Kilo sales and absolutely love to grab a bargain, Preloved charge £15 a kilo but have also started to allow you to 'pre buy' your kilos for only £12 and any kilos you don't claim you get the extra money back!
It's hard not to go over the top at these sales theres so many bargains to find and items that you'll never see again.
Kilo sales always have such a wide range of items and for both men and women, this Preloved Kilo Sale had a lot more rails of 'mens clothes' than most so it was absolutely great for everyone. Kilo Sales are also a great place to pick up denim, I think all of my denim pieces I have since covered in patches initially came from Kilo sales. They are a great place and you can find lots of fab items without paying the usual high street vintage denim prices.
I was actually relatively sensible when it came to this Kilo sale and only picked up a few fabulous items, I've been clearing out my wardrobe recently so am trying to be a little more sensible with my purchases (as if that will last!).
I picked up and tried on a lot more items than I actually ended up walking away with, I'd recommend you always try on any of your finds at the sales as vintage sizing is always so hit and miss. Also don't be put off if items are too big or too long I often buy items with the intention of then shortening or adjusting the size myself, theres also not a lot of things a waist belt won't fix!
From this sale I bought three items; an absolute gorgeous faux leopard print coat, a leather midi skirt and an oversized sun print shirt.
I've been looking at midi length pleather skirts on the high street recently, I wanted one to be able to wear for nights out but one I can also double up and wear at work. This one was a perfect fit and only weighed enough to cost £3 and it's real leather.
I spotted this shirt and loved the sun embroidery detailing on both the front and back of the shirt along with the super cute gold star buttons. The shirt is quite oversized but will look great tucked into a button down skirt or jeans.
I've also been after a Leopard print faux fur coat for a while, I've been trawling the sales but hadn't found one I truly loved. I spotted this one in the rails and it instantly drew me in, coats are set at a fixed price of £15, but thats still an absolute bargain. This one is so so soft, its like wearing a big cosy blanket I lived in it for the rest of the weekend!
For my trip to the Kilo sale I wore my favourite embroidered button down skirt along with this cream floaty playsuit, I wore the playsuit as a shirt as a love the boho style floaty sleeves and think it looks great.
I wore my black chunky boots as they are super comfy for all day walking and finished the look off with my fave Mac lipstick of the moment Chilli.
