First Blog Post and Bank Holiday Weekend

This is my first ever blog post so I thought I'd better make it a good one, this Bank Holiday weekend myself and six of my friends travelled down to London town, so that we could attend one of the Finsbury Park Arctic Monkeys gigs.
We'd been anticipating this event so much as it marks the beginning of our 'Summer of Fun' and the various events and birthdays we have arranged in the coming months! Which I plan to also blog about, this includes lots of gigs, festivals and holidays!

So we travelled down to London on the Saturday by train, and when we arrived in London we sought out the hostel we'd booked to stay in, Rest Up London. Although very basic it was exactly what we needed a bed for the night and was very reasonably priced and in a very good location close to tubes(nearest station being Elephant & Castle) and quite central.

I'd been worried about what outfit to wear for the gig as the forecasted weather was awful, and I always like to dress as summery as possible so finding sensible clothing was hard, but in the end I settled for a Floral Cami Dress - Topshop,
Black Lace Fringed Kimono - Ark Clothing,
Statement Hair Chain - AliExpress,
Floral Boots - Dr Marten (not featured in the picture as they were a sensible last minute decision!)

We arrived at the gig just as Royal Blood, the first of three support acts, were playing my favourite song 'Little Monster' but we manage to catch quite a bit of their set and they were absolutely amazing so that more than made up for this!

Next to play was Miles Kane, who is one of our personal favourites so he proved to be a perfect warm up to Tame Impala and Arctic Monkeys as he played all of our favourites!

Tame Impala were also incredible, but we were eagerly anticipating Arctic Monkeys set and when they came on they certainly didn't disappoint. Having last seen them at Glastonbury last I was hoping and expecting a set just as fab! But they were definitely incredible again, even if we all did end up with a slightly hazy memory of the full set!!

It was an absolutely amazing night, once we'd checked out of the hostel on the Sunday morning we headed to Camden to enjoy the sunshine in one of the many bars on the lock where we had an absolute feast, eyes bigger than our bellies as usual! After this we headed back to the train station for the massive journey home all feeling absolutely shattered after such an amazing weekend! I've been left so excited for the rest of Summer!
